Paper Plate Math 1 - Numerals, Sets, Numeral Words and Counting

Three types of activities build numeracy from 1 to 30. Sorting pockets teach number recognition, numeral and set association and number words. Paper Plate Math 3 - Math Stories

Simple, open-ended stories are provided along with the counters and holders to encourate students to manipulate numbers and solve problems. Stories also have second copy with fill-in number spaces so teachers or students can create new stories. Complete the stories in class then send the blank story from home to be completed with parental help. Exchange and solve the new stories as a class. Each story presents several math functions in succession. The student must infer the math function from the action in the story rather than a direct question. Encourages critical thinking and listening skills as well as skills in math functions. (96 pages)
